Year Four Visit Stainton Way

July 17, 2017
Year 4 went to Stainton Way to deliver carrot cake and shortbread they had baked in school. They spent the morning chatting and reading to the residents as well as serving tea. Because it was a knitting morning, some residents helped the children to get stuck in with some knitting. It was harder than it looked! [satellite gallery=166 caption=on thumbs=on]

Sports Day Y1-Y6

July 14, 2017
Well done to all of our fabulous sporters and supporters both.  It was a great afternoon for the children with lots of enthusiasm and success.  Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to help and cheer encouragement. We love Sports Day! [satellite gallery=165 auto=on caption=on thumbs=on]

EYFS Sports Day

July 14, 2017
The rain held off - just - and the races were run! There was drama, there were surprise results and last-minute slips.  There was also excellent sportsmanship and great team spirit.  Plus not too much cheating on the egg and spoon race ;-) [satellite gallery=164 auto=on caption=off thumbs=on]

Furniture for Gambia

July 13, 2017
Last year we sent some furniture from Viewley Hill to a school in the Gambia.  Mrs Taylor came in with a slide show to show us where the furniture had gone and how she had transported it there.  It was inspiring to see the photos of the school.  The faces of the pupils showed commitment and enjoyment and love of learning - a recognisable look.  Perhaps we share more than chairs and tables. Year Five investigate forces

July 13, 2017
What better to do on a nice sunny day than swing a bucket of water over your head?  Year 5 enjoyed this Science experiment.  Everyone had a turn and no one got wet! [satellite gallery=162 auto=on caption=off thumbs=on]

Maths Champs

July 12, 2017
We were very proud of the Viewley Hill Mathematicians who entered the Discovery Alliance Maths Competition - we won! Not only coming first by nine points, but we were even more proud of their manners, their team work and their outstanding sportsmanship.  Well done Maths Champs! Year 1-2 Grand Ukulele Concert

July 11, 2017
The scene was set.  The audience hushed.  The velvet curtains drew back and...  Year 1-2 played their Grand Concert!  There was singing, there was strumming, there was joining in!  The audience went wild. [satellite gallery=158 auto=on caption=on thumbs=on]

Outside Learning in EYFS

July 10, 2017
Early Years were learning outside.  The new Fairy Garden was especially popular, and good for firing those imaginations and communication skills. [satellite gallery=157 auto=on caption=on thumbs=on]

Summer time finger skills

May 26, 2017
Early Years went old-school with the finger skills and manual dexterity.  It was fine motor control and flower power with the daisy chains.  Some of the chains were very long! [satellite gallery=156 auto=on caption=off thumbs=on]

Year 3 erupt their volcanoes

May 26, 2017
It just isn't a science experiment if there isn't a volcano erupting scary bicarbonate of soda!  Year 3's volcanoes were amazing.[satellite gallery=154 auto=on caption=off thumbs=on]
