Safeguarding at Viewley Hill Academy

At Viewley Hill Academy we believe that your children being safe is our most important job.  We follow our Viewley Values:

  • We try our best.
  • We listen.
  • We are respectful.
  • We are honest.
  • We are kind and helpful.

These values help our children both inside school but in the school community and in everything they do.

At Viewley Hil Academy, promoting and safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners in school make sure their approach is child centred. This means that they consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.

All staff are trained in safeguarding and child protection so that they can promote the welfare of children at all times:

  • providing help and support to meet the needs of children as soon as problems
  • emerge
  • protecting children from maltreatment, whether that is within or outside the
  • home, including online
  • preventing the impairment of children’s mental and physical health or
  • development
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of
  • safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcome
