Welcome to Viewley Hill Academy

Viewley_Hill__MG_0180_0001Thank you for visiting our academy website. We are incredibly proud of all the fantastic work that goes on here and I hope that you get a flavour of what makes us special as you browse through our pages. Nothing beats first hand experience, so please do make an appointment to come and meet us and see the children enjoying their learning.

We have much to celebrate at Viewley Hill. Our results in each national key measure have rapidly increased over three years and we are particularly pleased with the progress our children make. In 2015 we even managed to improve on our great 2014 results with 93% of children making expected progress in reading and 100% making expected progress in writing and maths.  This year we are delighted to be above national averages for attainment at the end of Key Stage 2 in reading, writing, maths and grammar – particularly as these new tests were extremely challenging.

Visitors to Viewley frequently comment on the welcoming atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the children – they love meeting new people and talking about their school! Viewley Hill is a happy place to be because we foster values that help the children care for, and respect, themselves and others. We have lots of extra things going on to enrich our curriculum and we love to involve parents in this as much as we can.

Our expectations of the children and ourselves are very high.  We aim to provide the very best to help your children achieve the very best.  That means behaviour, attendance and attitudes to learning must  be excellent.  We have lots of rewards to make sure the children know when they are getting it right and we also have a whole school behaviour policy that supports staff and children if things go a little off track.

I am really proud to be headteacher of Viewley Hill and I know that the staff team here are equally proud to be a part of Viewley Hill.  Please come and see for yourself what we can offer your child.

Kind regards

Helen Malbon – Headteacher
