Rainforest facts

January 30, 2017
As part of their theme, Rio de Vida the Y1 children used books to find out information about animals that live in the rain forest.  They then completed the facts on a fact file.

On your marks… Get set… JOUST!

January 30, 2017
The theme in Reception was "Did Dragons Exist?"  We had learnt all about dragons and castles and knights and their trusty steeds.  Now the time had come to practise our jousting skills.  Lead out the "horses"... Break out the "lances"...  JOUST!

Reading Week – the Mannequin Challenge

January 25, 2017
It was reading week, and we all talked about our favourite books.  Then we did the mannequin challenge!  We had to stand still in the pose of our favourite character, not moving at all. See if you can work out which characters we are showing...

Reading Week – Come Read With Me!

January 25, 2017
It was reading week.  We love stories in Early Years, and - even better - the mums and dads and grandmas and granddads and carers could com in to read them! And they all lived happily ever after.

Reading Week – the Storyteller

January 20, 2017
It was Reading Week at Viewley Hill Academy.  The books were open and the pages fluttering; the book bags were heavily laden with marvellous tomes...  and then came the Storyteller!  He worked with all year groups to tell stories from around the world.

EYFS and Y6 meet the animals

January 18, 2017
Jay's Animal Encounters came to visit.  There were all sort of scary creatures in school, but the Early Years children were not scared - not with Year 6 there to protect them.  Or was it the other way around?
