Y6 Science Investigation

October 12, 2016
Science is great in Year six. The children had to plan and carry out their own investigation to do with circuitry.  Watt an electrifying experience.  Each group did a different investigation.  They also had to assign each other roles such as recorder, leader, observer.  That's wire they so clever.

Year 1 and 2 visit Newcastle Castle

October 12, 2016
On Monday 3rd October all the children in KS1 visited Newcastle Castle. We learned all about how the castle was built to defend the people inside and how a knight would have lived. We even climbed the twisty, uneven steps to the top of the keep so we could see Newcastle City Centre. What an amazing day we had!

Year Five have a voice!

October 12, 2016
We Have a Voice
One of the fingers of our Helping Hand is 'we have a voice.' This is focused around the children having their own voice and being listened to. We discussed the different ways this happens in school - we have ambassadors, our red bullying boxes and we always discuss issues. Miss Shadforth challenged the children to think of one thing they would like to change or add to school and this what they came up with. Year 5 must be heard!

Year Three are Archeologists!

October 12, 2016
Year 3 had a  fantastic time being archaeologist for the day as part of their theme work.  Following Mr Cunningham's exciting discovery of a large fossil, they spent time out site digging to see what other artefacts they could find!  It was a very interesting day and set the scene for future learning.
