Message from Chair of Governors
I went into school just a couple of days before the commencement of the new autumn term and there was a real buzz around the place as teachers were preparing their respective classrooms for the new term.
Our results have again been extremely positive and as Chair of Governors I would like to both congratulate and thank Mrs Malbon and all the teaching staff for such an outstanding set of results. I’m so proud of what our children have achieved and the hard work and total dedication of the staff does not go unnoticed. May I also take this opportunity to thank parents for the part you have played in ensuring our children reach their truest potential throughout their time at Viewley Hill.
We have an extremely pro-active parent support group and they do so much work for the school, often in the background. I was delighted when school gained the Leading Parent Partnership Award for the amazing work carried out to ensure parents (and grandparents!) are purposefully involved in the work of the school.
Although the past school year has been so positive, we do not ‘rest on our laurels’ and please be assured that both the staff and Governors will be totally focused on raising the bar to even greater heights in 2016-17.
Since taking on the role of Chair of Governors it has always been my hope that our children would love coming to school and enjoy discovering new things each and every day in a relaxed yet stimulating environment. This school is making a name for itself for its innovative and challenging curriculum and we are starting to see those positive initiatives come through.
In closing, I would once again thank Mrs Malbon, her staff team and everyone involved in the daily life of Viewley Hill Academy for their continuing hard work and also a big thank you to my fellow governors who take an active role in the life of our great school.
On behalf of all the governors, thank you for your continuing support.
Chair of Governors
